Collect comments on a live page
Last updated: 2026-10-09
Deploy with --comments and every page of the site gets a panel where a visitor can highlight a passage and leave a note anchored to that text. The visitor needs no account, and a coding agent can read the notes from the command line.
flypod login
flypod ./dist --comments Who needs an account
- You do. Comments run on a site you own, so sign in with
flypod loginfirst. It is free. - Your reviewers do not. In the default mode anyone with the link can comment.
--mode passcodeasks for a passcode first, and--mode approvedkeeps each note hidden until you approve it.
On a site that is already deployed
flypod comments enable
Run it in the folder you deployed from. Comments are off by default, and
flypod comments off removes the panel again.
Reading the comments
The notes are on the page for people, and on the command line for scripts and agents:
flypod comments list --json
flypod comments resolve <thread_id>
Each thread carries the page it is on and the text it is anchored to, which is what an
agent needs to find the place in the source. A typical loop: the reviewer comments, the
agent lists open threads, edits the files, runs flypod update, and resolves
the thread. The reviewer reloads the same link.
What it changes on your site
The panel is added to HTML pages as they are served. Your files are not modified, and static assets, JSON and scripts are served untouched.

Questions
How do I let someone comment on a web page I built?
Sign in with flypod login, then deploy with flypod ./dist --comments. Every page of the site gets a panel where a visitor can highlight a passage and leave a note anchored to that text.
Do the people commenting need an account?
No. In the default mode anyone with the link can comment. You can require a passcode, or hold each note until you approve it.
Can my coding agent read the comments?
Yes. flypod comments list --json prints the threads, each with its page and the text it is anchored to. The agent can fix the files, run flypod update, and resolve the thread.
Do I need to add a script to my pages?
No. flypod adds the comment panel to HTML pages as it serves them. Your files are not changed.
Can I turn comments off again?
Yes. Run flypod comments off. Comments are off by default on every site.
