Share a build

Send someone your build as a link

Last updated: 2026-10-09

Someone asks to see it and it only runs on your machine. Build the site, run npx flypod ./dist, and paste the URL it prints. They open a link; they install nothing and sign in to nothing.

npm run build
npx flypod ./dist

The URL is public, served over HTTPS at <site-id>.flypod.page, and works on any device. It is the built site itself, not a tunnel to your machine, so it keeps working after you close the laptop.

Change it without sending a new link

After feedback, rebuild and run flypod update from the same folder. The new version goes to the same address, so the link they already have shows the change. If the change was a mistake, flypod rollback puts the previous version back.

flypod update
flypod rollback

Show what changed

Deploy with --timeline and the site gets a small History chip. A reviewer can open any earlier version or put two versions side by side. It is off unless you ask for it.

It is public, and it is temporary

Anyone with the link can open it, so do not deploy anything secret. A site deployed without an account expires after 14 days and is marked so search engines do not index it. Run flypod login to keep one.

Collecting feedback on it

If you want notes pinned to the page instead of a message thread about it, see comments on a live page.

Questions

How do I share a site that only runs on my machine?

Build it, then run npx flypod ./dist. flypod uploads the build folder and prints a public HTTPS link you can send to anyone. No account is needed.

Does the other person need to install or sign in to anything?

No. They open the link in a browser.

Does the link stop working when I turn my computer off?

No. The link serves the uploaded files, not your machine. It stays up for 14 days, or permanently once you run flypod login.

Can I update the site without sending a new link?

Yes. Run flypod update from the same folder and the new version is served at the same address. flypod rollback restores the previous version.

Is the link private?

No. Anyone who has the link can open it. Sites deployed without an account are not indexed by search engines, but they are not access-controlled.
